Extremism and Challenges to Peace education: Implications for Pakistan

    Extremism in Pakistan is impacting the Political stability of the state, and the growing security situations have deteriorated the phenomenon of peace education in Pakistan. Although the literacy rate is increasing yet a lot of attention is still needed in this regard. The core objective of this paper is to analyze the problems of Peace education in Pakistan.  The country has been facing extremism for many decades, directly or indirectly, so the society needs awareness of this societal demon to achieve prosperity. The education system of Pakistan needs many changes to counter extremism for the future of the coming generation, by understanding the challenges to peace education. The behavior of the students and teachers towards peace education needs to be evaluated. The hurdles that were faced by the NGOs while propagation peace education will also be highlighted.
